Open Question: Fake or natural beauty?
Ok, I was looking at some pictures of singers/actresses and was looking at some of their before/after pics of supposed plastic surgery. But the thing that irked me is that, in a lot of them, they either looked relatively the same, or that they looked so beautiful in the old pictures before getting altered. So, little question for you guys. What do you prefer, Natural beauty (No surgery, unless it was absolutely neccessary) Or altered beauty done by surgery for cosmetic reasons? Just curious Oh, and girls can answer to :) This isnt just directed to boys

Voting Question: permission from army commander for cosmetic surgery?
I am active ARMY and currently deployed. I have talked to my Company Commander about cosmetic surgery when we return from deployment in Oct. I am paying out of my possess pocket for breast enlargment . I have been told I need a letter giving me permission for this surgery from my Cmdr. Incase something happens tricare will cover me medically. My Cmdr says he wi;ll write this letter but we dont know where to find the template or format. Anyone know? Kat, Thank you for your answer, as i said I was paying out of pocket for my breast enlargment, which means I am not going to a military Dr. I am deployed as mentioned therefore i know plenty about wounded warriors and surgeries available to them. Why would I even go that route? As far as a mental eval, It is called a consult which is done before the surgery. Someone else mentioned running might be painful, I plan on having this surgery when i am on block leave, therefore giving me the time i need to heal. I am a combat medic and have covered every my steps needed. every i needed to know was " the form I needed from my CMDR allowing me to have the surgery" The relax has every been taken into consideration. Thank you for the suggestion of 4187 and JAG. 2 routes I am going to try. Tricare doesnt cover the surgery, it is incase there are problems months or years down the road.

Voting Question: How do I cope with my nose dysmorphia?
I have a really bulbous nose. I receive it from my Dad's side of the family, and I have some serious dad issues. My nose depresses me so much that I want to sob every time I look in the mirror. I have been feeling like this for about 7 years now, and I thought it would receive better... but its getting worse. Now just even thinking about odor, blowing my nose, or catching a glimpse of my reflection in a window makes me want to rip my nose off - I wish it were possible. Sometimes the feeling gets so intense that I want to receive scissors and change the shape myself. I have looked into cosmetic surgery, but I cant afford it, and was turned down for the finance. How do I cope with these feelings, or how do I receive my nose changed? :(

Resolved Question: Would cosmetic surgery fix Body Dysmorphic Disorder?
Now I know cosmetic surgery normally doesn't, which I'm assuming is because the flaws are something only you look, and so you're never satisfied. But suppose you've always hated one specific part of you, like your nose, before symptoms of BDD occurred. The symptoms later on occurred, but only over your nose and slowly, you hated everything about yourself. Would cosmetic surgery help in that case? I know psychiatric care is necessary, but it can't really make a life-long insecurity go away, especially when it's definitely a real flaw. Wouldn't cosmetic surgery be necessary to avoid BDD from coming back?

Resolved Question: Could this fix Body Dysmorphic Disorder?
Let's say I never liked my nose, and one day, I decided to ask my mum to take me to receive it fixed (Since I was below 18). She said okay, and I was glad, and every sadness related to my nose was gone. Then, my mum said she won't let me receive it fixed and every the sadness came back, but worse than ever. During the course of 6 months, symptoms of BDD occurred, and it got worse, to the point that I didn't want to ever go out again. If I were to look a psychiatrist and he gave me medication, should I also fix my nose, to prevent BDD from ever happening again? I know cosmetic surgery normally doesn't fix things like this, but since I've always disliked my nose, what's to say I won't ever go through something like this again? Basically, would getting cosmetic surgery help in any way, or is it very unlikely/impossible?

Voting Question: My eyes are slightly out of proportion (I think)?
My 2 eyes are slightly out of proportion, one eye is slightly higher than the other. I'm a curious 17 year old guy and I want to know why my 2 eyes are slightly different? When I take close up photo of my 2 eyes, it seems slightly out of proportion and my right eye seems dead, compared to my vivid left eye. Is this because my right eye is damaged? Oh and I'm shortsighted. I want to know whether this can be cured without plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery or makeup (because I'm a guy)

Voting Question: should i work out then cosmetic surgery or other way around?
first off i dont care about your opinion on cosmetic surgery i busted my ass to lose this weight to join the military and now i have excess skin. i still have i decent amount of strength building to go, i would be scrawny if it werent for this skin and a little fat. in a total body lift (which is what i require) they will tug the skin tight should i build muscle and then have the procedure done which is quicker to join or wait and build after, i would lose muscle mass during recovery because cannot lift a lot... at every for a while which may affect the skin and sagging this is where i dont know. i am 22 so time is a factor when joining you have to wait a mandatory year after surgery to even start the process of joining. now SURGERY IS REQUIRED only option at this point. yes i do know, muscle can not fill this in... seriously

Resolved Question: nose cosmetic surgery?
Hi, I am 24 yrs old girl. I think i look good. But my nose is very odd. Since childhood ppl tease me about my wide puffy nose. My nose is not too big not too tiny, but very wide and not at every sharp. Sometimes i feel down coz of my nose. I am thinking of undergoing a nose surgery. Is it safe. Will it leave scars after the surgery. Well, i am not expecting a perfect nose. I am very realistic. I just want to make it a bit narrow, sharp. But i am scared if the new job will suit me. I am unable to make out what part of the nose and how much should be modified. Are there professional available who can suggest the nice of nose that will suit my facial symmetry..coz i think doctors can't understand this thorougly. Please advice .....thanks

Resolved Question: I never feel pretty. What can I do?
I mean I NEVER feel pretty. I know a lot of people say that, but I really mean it. Sometimes I contemplate cosmetic surgery to correct the things I don't like. I feel that my nose is too big, my lips are too thin, my eyebrows are too low (they have no arch as well) my boobs (a 36DD) are too big, my hips are too wide, my stomach is too pudgy, my thighs are too fat, my hands/feet are too tiny, my teeth aren't white enough, my face is too round, and that I'm too short (I'm 5'1"). I also have horrible acne that won't go away. Whenever I look at my sister, my friends, or celebrities I think "That's how I should look" instead of how I actually do. I'm honestly not asking this question to have people tell me, "Oh, you're beautiful the way you are". I'm here seeking help on HOW to make myself feel pretty enough to be at least a little comfortable in my possess skin. What can I do? (Short of seeing a shrink)

Open Question: How important do you think pheromones are regarding human sexual attraction?
I have my doubts about it. If pheromones were as important in humans as they are in other species; a)-How could a lady/man be attracted to a man/lady portrayed in a picture?. b)-Why is cosmetic surgery so important when pheromones should grant better results?. c)-Why were fragrances developers unable to deliver a scent capable of acting as a “adore potion”?. d)-Why people still needs to look good in order to be attractive?. e)-Why could be nature using an evolutionary deprecated sense (at least in humans) instead of using the most complex and developed one (sight)? Thanks in advance.

Resolved Question: Loans for cosmetic surgery?
I have wanted jaw surgery for as long as I can remember and now that I'm 18 i want it more than ever. I had to wait until now because obviously I was too young and my parents don't really agree so they wouldn't fund it anyway. I have been to my GP and although they say I am a good candidate for surgery (i have a really weak chin/jaw), the NHS wouldn't fund it either because it is considered purely cosmetic. So my question is would i be able to take out a loan? -How should i go about doing this and would It require my parents involvement ? I could start saving now but I'd prefer not to wait that long as it really affects my confidence, so i want to make the change now whilst I'm still young. Thankyou !

Open Question: Would you get the "Whites" of your eyes Inked / Tattooed? If so what color?
Ok, a bit of a Reference for ya. The way this is done is by taking a needle and piercing through the outer layer of the eye's "Skin" and injecting the ink between the layers of the eye. The practice is a bit new outside of cosmetic surgery which only would repair part of a damaged eye for looks. They're not sure if this will have side effects later in life or not since it's new, but it is diffidently something people would notice. So, would you have it done, and if so what color? Both eyes the same color or go really freaky and receive each eye done differently? Best answer receive's my vote on 9/5/10 If you think I'm crazy here's some Websites and Video's on the subject. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30s6d67xCFA - MSNBC Special http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFN45r2akns - Procedure http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hwnRn7Vfhzw - Dude yakking about it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eye_tattoo - Wiki Article

Open Question: Where would be a good place to get double eyelid surgery in Toronto, Ontario?
My whole family has deep crease, but somehow I did not inherit that. My right eye has a fold, but not very strong, and my left crease disappeared when I hit 11. I am nice of reluctant to go to China/Hong Kong for it because I don't live there.
